"Before I read Miranda and Starlight, I hated reading. Your books have changed my life. Last night I read Starlight's Shooting Star for three hours and it felt like five minutes. You have a gift, and never stop writing books."
"In my opinion, this series will attract more than just the girls who love horses. Miranda is a great role model. She is so realistic that kids cannot help but relate to Miranda and her problems. At the same time, readers can follow Miranda during all her adventures. Outstanding!"*****

"I am at the part in your third book where Miranda finds a puppy. It is an interesting book. All authors make the exciting part at the end of the book but I love your books because you make the exciting parts all over in the book not just the end which is very good. I love your books for many other reasons too. You are a great author."
"The fifth title in Janet Hill's outstanding series featuring a young girl and her beloved horse, Starlight Shines For Miranda, finds that 12-year-old Miranda and her black stallion Starlight experience a forced separation causing both the girl and her horse to go 'off their feed' as their health deteriorates. The plans of Mr. Taylor (the crotchety owner of Shady Hills Horse Ranch) are in jeopardy until Starlight and Miranda are reunited and find a way to save Mr. Taylor from financial ruin. Starlight Shines For Miranda continues to document Janet Muirhead Hill as one of the truly skilled storytellers writing for young readers today."
About the sixth and final book of the series, Starlight Comes Home: "This is the best book in the series!!! It deals with real problems we kids face. The ending is surprising and very good. This book tells that no matter how bad things get you can always get through them."
"So after finishing the fifth book, I finally decided who Miranda Stevens reminds me of...she is deffinitely the modern day version of Tom Sawyer!! Her impulsiveness, ability to learn from her mistakes and good heart make her an endearing character and her adventurous spirit, willingness to speak her mind and act on injustice are definitely traits to admire. The plots of the Miranda and Starlight books are exciting and keep readers both young and old totally engaged. I will recommend the books to all of my teacher friends for classroom reading. These are sure to get reluctant young readers going as well!"
